OUTREACH & MARKETING PARTNERSHIPS
The Save Darfur Coalition is an alliance of over 170 faith-based,
advocacy and humanitarian organizations representing 130 million
members. Save Darfur is a significant sponsor of the film.
The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Committee on Conscience
has agreed to share news of the film’s release with their
expansive membership.
Jewish World Watch, a contributor to our film, works to
mobilize synagogues, their schools, their members and the community
to combat genocide and other egregious violations of human rights
around the world through education, advocacy, and refugee relief.
The Genocide Intervention Network (GI-Net) and Students
Taking Action Now – Darfur (STAND), works to empower individuals
and communities with the tools to prevent and stop genocide while
building an educated political constituency. In particular, GI-Net
and STAND has a presence at 500 college campuses and representatives
at hundreds of high schools throughout North America.
mtvU, broadcasting 24-7 to 750 campuses and over 7 million
college students nationwide, is the largest, most comprehensive
television network just for college students. mtvU has committed
to helping us reach out to thousands of young people, to promote
the film and drive social action on this issue.
MySpace.com, with 70 million users, has offered support
in promoting the film with viral networking and placement of our
periodic clip postings and theatrical release dates. During the
film’s posting on MySpace as its featured film, this prominent
placement generated over 150,000 unique hits in the first 36 hours.
MoveOn.org, with 3.3 million members will promote the film's
release in conjunction with their work to promote the goals of Enough,
including using targeted email blasts to encourage members to attend
the film on opening weekends.
MeetUp.com has an online reach of over 2 million. They
have pledged to promote the film's release, to promote action points
on Darfur, and to motivate groups in cities across the US to see
the film.
Sudan Divestment Task Force, a project of GI-Net, is actively
involved in dozens of targeted Sudan divestment campaigns around
the world at the university, asset manager, city, state, and national
levels.
Enough, the new initiative of the International Crisis
Group and the Center for American Progress, is advancing a strategy
of “promoting the peace, protecting the people, and punishing
the perpetrators,” in critical conflict zones, including Darfur.
Council of Holocaust Educators is a professional organization
serving teachers interested in teaching the Holocaust and other
genocide issues. Elie Wiesel, Nobel Peace Laureate, serves as the
Honorary Chair.
Aegis Trust is an independent, international organization
based in the UK, dedicated to eliminating genocide.
Darfur/Darfur is a traveling exhibit of digitally-projected
changing images of Darfur, which includes Brian’s photographs
among other professional photojournalists. The exhibit has committed
to promoting the film throughout its 24-city, two-year tour.
The Bright Earth Project / Google Earth is an endeavor
initiated by individuals at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum and
the Journal Nature to plot on Google Earth’s platform satellite
imagery and data from the conflict, including Brian’s photographs.
Brian’s Memoirs & Public Affairs Books
Brian's memoirs, also entitled “The Devil Came on Horseback:
Bearing Witness to the Genocide in Darfur”, was published
by PublicAffairs in April 2007 and is widely available in bookstores.
Publicity for the book is being coordinated with cross-promotion
for the film.
Global Grassroots
Global Grassroots is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded
by producer Gretchen Wallace, which offers training and seed funding
to disadvantaged women to launch their own ideas for social change.
Global Grassroots is dedicating 100% of the proceeds it earns from
the film to help Darfur refugees launch projects that improve the
lives of women.
Three Generations
Three Generations is a non-profit organization founded by producer
Jane Wells, which aims to help survivors of genocide, raise awareness
of present and future threats and try and make sure that “never
again” becomes more than an empty promise. |
